Leiden Centre

In the historical city centre you can shop all day in the longest shopping street of the Netherlands, the “Haarlemmerstraat.” Try and visit the city market in the centre on Wednesday and Saturday.

The famous city cannels are the place to have a drink at one of the terraces after a day in the city centre.

The historical city centre still preserves it’s cultural heritage such as the fortress “de Burcht” where Leiden was build around, two of old city gates the Zijlpoort and the Morspoort, and the oldest university in the country build in 1575.
